Description

Gedeb is a hidden gem in Ethiopia's Yirgacheffe region, known for producing some of the most aromatic and complex coffees in the world. These beans carry the signature characteristics that made Ethiopian coffee famous, with a twist that makes Gedeb stand out.

If you're chasing that perfect cup with layers of flavor, you've found it.

Taste Guide

Think bright and lively. Gedeb hits you with lemon zest and black tea right from the aroma.

Take a sip and you'll find juicy blueberry and ripe strawberry notes dancing on your palate. There's a floral lavender quality in the background that adds sophistication.

The sweetness? Like raw honey drizzled over fresh berries.

Acidity is vibrant but smooth, similar to white wine. Body is silky and light, making it easy to drink cup after cup. The finish leaves you with lingering berry sweetness and a clean mouth feel.

Sourcing

Location: Gedeb district, part of the renowned Yirgacheffe region in southern Ethiopia.

Elevation: 1,900 to 2,100 meters above sea level, where temperature swings between day and night create incredible flavor density.

Processing: Washed method with extended fermentation. Beans are carefully depulped, fermented for 36-48 hours, then washed clean and dried on African raised beds. This extra fermentation time develops complexity you can taste.

Farming: Small family-owned plots where coffee is grown under shade trees, the traditional way. We source through cooperatives that prioritize quality over quantity.

Speciality

Gedeb's extended fermentation creates flavor complexity that standard processing can't achieve. The washed method means every unique characteristic of the terroir comes through clearly.

These are Grade 1 Ethiopian beans, the highest quality classification available. Hand-sorted multiple times to remove any defects. Our medium roast profile is carefully calibrated to preserve the delicate fruit and floral notes while adding enough body to keep things interesting.

Small-batch roasting in Saudi Arabia ensures freshness and quality control every step of the way.

How To Prepare

Chemex: Medium grind, 93°C water. This brewing method emphasizes the floral notes and clean body perfectly.

V60: Slightly finer grind, circular pour technique. Brings out maximum clarity and fruit-forward character.

French Press: Medium-coarse grind, 4-minute brew. Adds body while maintaining the berry sweetness.

Espresso: Medium-fine grind, 25-second pull. Creates a bright, fruit-bomb shot with excellent sweetness.

Cold Brew: Coarse grind, 18-hour steep. The berry notes become candy-sweet and incredibly smooth.

Why This Coffee

Choose Gedeb when you want coffee that feels special. This is morning sunlight in a cup, bright and uplifting without being aggressive.
